In central Luleå, you will find Luleå High School. A consolidated high school area where ten school units coexist in four blocks. There is also a nice high school library in the village and a Health House for our sports education. In the high school area, over 2,300 students study within the high school and adapted high school, and about 300 people work here.

At Luleå High School, we focus on learning. Students at Luleå High School should be given the conditions for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership. We want to prepare students for the future, working life, and life as citizens in society.

The contacts with the business community are many, and in the local program councils, the high school collaborates with the business community to create good conditions for students to be well prepared for the time after high school.

In the high school, there are also specialized programs in mathematics and physics, as well as nationally approved sports education and national basketball gymnasium.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a social pedagogue with us at Kvarteret Lärkan, you will be the person who provides important support for students with more extensive needs for security. You will be the first contact channel for these students and be available when situations arise that feel difficult and/or urgent for the student/students. By doing so, you contribute to an increased sense of security and continuity.

You will work closely with the student health team and report continuously to the principal of the school unit and the student health team. You will also have contact with the students' teachers and, if necessary, participate in individual lessons alongside the students. Part of the job involves being proactive and supportive, where you are available in various groups and/or classes during lunch breaks/recess when students need you.

As a social pedagogue, you work proactively, preventively, and remedially to promote students' attendance, well-being, health, and welfare. You make interventions for individual students and groups/classes, but you are also the spider in the web in all types of safety issues.

The work may also involve collaboration with other authorities and aims to develop successful collaboration methods and structures for good social preventive work where school and external actors collaborate with the student's best interests in focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is an educated social pedagogue, social worker, or behavioral scientist, or has other relevant education for the position. It is advantageous if you have experience in psychiatry.

Since the role of social pedagogue involves contact and collaboration with other people in need of support, it requires that you are good at creating and maintaining relationships and that you have good collaboration skills. You are a person who creates security, inspires trust, and can build trusting relationships. However, you should also have the competence and insight into where the boundaries lie.

It is important that you are structured and organize your work well. Your view of people and students is based on the equal value of all people, and you understand that students do their best based on their circumstances.

If you are considered for the position, you will need to present a valid extract from the criminal record.
